Camping Toilet
Should you get a camping toilet? One of the biggest complaints that many people have about going camping is the lack of good bathroom facilities. Even at a public campground, you'll notice that there may be few toilets, they can be hard to get to, and they may not be maintained the way they should be. While a toilet block and showers are provided by most campsites, they can be dirty or just plain closed when you need them. That's why many people are choosing to bring camping toilets along with them on their trip. It makes the whole situation a lot easier and more pleasant.
There are a number of different options on the market, from the extremely simple to the very complicated. Plenty of manufacturers are offering these items. The price range is wide, and the methods by which these toilets work are just as varied. On the low end, you're looking at something that's little more than a bucket. These are inexpensive, not all that pleasant for some people to use. You do, however, have easier access and control over cleanliness.
On the top end of the range are portable chemical toilets. These are bulky and costly, and are not advised for anyone who's worried about being short on space when they pack. They're also pretty clearly not for backpackers! Remember to take care if you choose one of these, as the included chemicals can be hazardous to pets and kids.
There are also ecologically friendly bathrooms built a lot like composting toilets, but portable. These require no chemicals, and are extremely handy. However, for some people, they may still seem unpleasant. It's all a matter of personal preference. From the simplest folding style to complex chemical types, there's an option for everyone. So, if you're tired of dealing with difficult to access, unsanitary facilities, this could be the answer you've been waiting for.
Take a little bit of time and look at the various options on the market. Decide what you need out of your toilet, and what you can tolerate, then look at your budget. There's a good chance you'll find the right one for you. New technologies are coming out all the time to make this problem less of an issue. You can take advantage of them and have a much more pleasant camping trip. Just spend a little time to find the camping toilet that's right for you.
