Camping Showers

Have you thought about packing camping showers for your trip? Even if you love camping, keeping clean in the great outdoors can be tricky. After all, there are no regular bathrooms in most campgrounds, and those that do offer showers may have only unpleasant, unreliable facilities. Plus, you’ll get dirty faster if you’re going to be outside all the time. That means that many people choose to bring their own camping showers to enable them to feel their best, even if they’re miles from civilization. Camping can be a great adventure, but we don’t have to put up with mud and sweat if we don’t want to.

Public camping areas do sometimes offer areas for showering, but they tend to be low on privacy. You may even have to shower in a group shower room, which some people have real problems with. A private shower of your own will have its own privacy enclosure, so you’ll be able to have a relaxing shower by yourself. Most are warmed by the heat of the sun, enabling you to have a warm (but usually not hot) shower.

Simply hang the shower bag in a tree or from a post, and allow it to warm up, and you’ll have no problem getting clean. When the sun isn’t cooperating, water warmed on a stove or over the fire can be used instead. Just make sure your bag style camping shower doesn’t have any heat limitations. You may need to mix really hot water with cold to get the appropriate temperature.

You can also purchase fancier showers, as well. More sophisticated types are available for groups and people camping in a space where they won’t need to carry their great. They offer comfortable showers no matter what the weather’s like and no matter how many people will be showering. Popup styles with mesh floors are popular. Their fabric sides allow air to flow through and prevent mildew growth, but offer lots of privacy.

There are lots of models of shower systems on the market, and there’s sure to be one that works for you. If you love nature, but don’t like being dirty, packing along your own shower might be the perfect choice for you. Take some time to look at everything that’s available and see which one will be best for you and your needs. We all love a nice, warm shower, and they can be even better when you’re camping. Don’t give up on keeping clean when you go camping.
