2 Person Camping Tents

Are you looking for just 2 person camping tents? You might not be into camping, especially if you've gone on a trip without the proper equipment. However, if you have the right 2 person camping tents, sleeping bags and other camping gear, you'll have a much better trip. Buying a tent for two is a little different than buying one for the family, but it doesn't have to be hard. Let's take a look at how to buy a tent for just a couple of people, whether you're driving in to your site or you'll be hiking.

Step one is determining size. You may think that you can simply head to the store and buy a tent that rated for two, but that'd be a mistake. A 2 person camping tent rating just means that there's enough space to fit two people. It doesn't tell you much about the dimensions, especially the height of the tent, and it won't give you any room for your gear. So, if you want to put more than just two people, tightly packed, into your tent, you're going to have to do a little bit more thinking.

Take a look at the width and length of the tent at the floor, to make sure you'll have space to comfortably lie town, as well as room for your gear. If standing up in your tent is a priority, you'll probably need a larger tent, or at least one with a steeper pitch. Dome tents are popular, but they don't offer a lot of head room for most people. It can be hard to find 2 person camping tents that offer a fully grown adult a reasonable amount of standing room, and these will generally be on the larger and heavier side.

Decide if you'll need a light summer tent, a three season tent, or a heavier four season tent. The weather and conditions you'll be camping in are going to determine what kind of weight you'll need to carry, as more durable, warmer tents are also generally heavier. Choose the most expensive tent you can afford, unless you camp infrequently. That's because very cheap tents don't usually last. Remember to get a tarp or footprint for under the tent, to protect it from moisture, unless one is already built in.

Taking a little time to shop around and learn what's on the market can be an incredibly good idea if you're in the market for tents for two people. Check out all the models and brands on the market and find out what you could be camping in. Then, compare the available options to your needs, and you'll end up with the perfect tent for you.
